Whitney is sick.

So, it's official... Whitney has now succumbed to illness as well. I guess it was inevitable; first Jordan, then Kelly, then me, and now Whitney. It's as if we all have a penance to pay for being in Ireland...

We took a taxi to the doctor's office I went to for my ailment, and we were pretty certain Whitney had it bad when the doctor, as is usual for Whitney, said "Oh... that's bad" upon seeing Whitney's throat. Which is an appropriate response, I suppose, as Whitney's right tonsil was pretty much black, scattered with little white spots. Yeah, yuk.

The doctor called it as either tonsillitis or mono, but as Whitney only started feeling unwell yesterday, it was too soon to be able to differentiate between them. The doctor staked on the tonsillitis, and prescribed an antibiotic and ibuprofen to help treat it. The pills are massive (think a slightly flattened Mike and Ike), but hopefully a medicine of such concentrated potency will get her better in a few days.

Just pray that it is not mono, though, as that takes much longer to recover from, and we would have to miss out on the last portion of our travels. With rest and fluids, though, I think she should get well pretty soon.

Besides, I am here to take care of her when she needs me, so don't worry about being motherly, Donna- that's my job when you are away :-)

Much love,
Duncan and Whitney

Allright, Mom is sitting next to me and forcing me to comment.

Whitney -- Take your medicine, get your rest, I'm sure Duncan will be very attentive, as usual.

Duncan -- My guess is the 10-12 year olds went to a Catholic school (?) Guessing only because a Catholic girls' school was on the bus route I took to college. They also had an amazing vocabulary.

Just thinking you could start substituting shamrocks for the dots on your blog page and have a page full of shamrocks by the time you're ready to come home.

Today is Aunt Phyllis's birthday, by the way.

This is starting to morph into a letter...

Mom heads to Tanzania on Thursday, assuming she gets her passport back. Nicole and I do orientation at UGA the 9th and 10th.

Keep a sharp eye for suspicious cars, post more pictures, and ya'll get well. Seems to be a great adventure for both of you.

Love ... Dad (Don)

Whitney - I am saying a prayer that your meds kick in fast so you can be up and running again very soon. I know that you must feel miserable right now, but just keep resting and remember to drink lots of fluids.

Duncan - Thanks for taking such good care of our girl.

Love y'all!

P.S. - Issie will have her 1st birthday tomorrow :)
